    We are looking for a Linux Systems Engineer/Administrator to work with a Government Agency in Monterey. You will get to work on the RHEL8 Operating System new cluster deployment and will have the opportunity to pick up incredible new skills including Red Hat Linux 8, Ansible, Identity Management Authentication, as well the actual standup of several new clusters. It will be a great opportunity to work on some exciting projects!


    • Position Type: Full time, W2 salaried plus benefits
    • Hours: Normal working hours are 8am-5pm, Monday - Friday
    • Location: Monterey, CA; onsite at Agency office
    • Security Clearance: Must be eligible for Top Secret Clearance


    Responsibilities

    • System administration, support system engineering and architecture, patching, cybersecurity support
    • Ensure the continued operations and maintenance of HPC and virtualization hardware (e.g., storage systems, file systems, switches, power distribution units, nodes, and memory), software (e.g., licenses, job schedulers, and libraries), equipment and licenses as required to sustain systems to support A2 HPC and virtualization requirements.
    • Participate in technical meetings and provide HPC and virtualization input to plans, schedules, documents, and engineering tasks as required to ensure the optimal state of the A2 systems.
    • Ensure configured HPC and virtualized capacity supports meeting this capability. Manage application resource allocation to support this capability.
    • Manage the hardware, network capability, storage, Operating Systems (OS), and applications to ensure fidelity of HPC and virtualization services.
    • Provide system engineering & architecture services.


    Requirements

    • Linux certification
    • Sec certification
    • U.S. Citizenship
    • 3 years experience with HPC and/or virtualization technologies and processes in support of UNIX/Linus-type operating system, virtualization maintenance, troubleshooting
    • 1 years writing comprehensive technical documentation
    • 1 years monitoring, reviewing, and implementing security problem reports
    • 1 years security hardening of computer systems and investigating security problems
    • 1 years experience with automated policy configuration, node provisioning, security concepts and software, system programming and system administration functions
