OTC Markets Group Inc., operator of premier US financial marketplaces, is seeking an Intern Linux/Infrastructure Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure Department for a paid internship this summer. This position is scheduled to start on June 17, 2024, and terminate on August 16, 2024.

Please note OTC Markets is currently operating in a hybrid work environment (three days in office, two days remotely).

You will be led by an Engineering Team Lead, and partnered with a mentor from our team at OTC Markets, and experience being part of a smart, passionate team dedicated to managing computer systems and supporting our teams using modern tools and technologies. We take great pride in the reliability, security, and performance of our systems and services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with our IT team to provide technical support for all employee and office IT equipment.
• Act on feedback, coaching, and mentorship from your mentor and team members.
• Contribute to team training and documentation.
• Assist with projects to consolidate internal tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A passion for computing that extends beyond your studies.
• Curiosity with a drive for continuous growth and learning.
• Significant coursework or project work in Computer Science (major not required).
• An interest to stage and deploy hardware equipment.
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with completion of two years or more.
• Relevant degree programs include Computer Science, Engineering, and other relevant information technology fields.
• Familiarity with Linux Systems environments.
• Shell scripting knowledge would be a great asset to this position, Bash and/or Perl / Python.
• Interest in building infrastructure as code.

This is a paid opportunity: $25/hour.
