    The System Engineer 2 analyzes business needs and designs, installs, and supports server hardware and software solutions on multiple Linux platforms for the Haas enterprise.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    • Performs analysis of server hardware and software needs and contributes to design of server architecture, integration, and installation.

    • Will leverage programming/scripting expertise to automate where manual processes exist to improve efficiency, accuracy and reliability.

    • Utilizes expertise in monitoring and maintaining enterprise-wide solutions and is generally server, storage and workstation based in focus.

    • Installs and maintains server hardware and software - including but not limited to Windows Server and Linux operating systems.

    • Monitors and maintains server performance and stability.

    • Communicates, coordinates and/or performs server maintenance schedules for backups, patching and/or downtime to users.

    • Provides support to, and trains co-workers in server administration and usage.

    • Coordinates third-party maintenance for server hardware, software, and related services.

    • Prepares and maintains documentation of server hardware and software configurations.

    • Will coordinate with Network Engineers and System Engineers on a regular basis.

    • Uses skills to accurately estimate workload.

    • Suggest ways to automate routine functions, improve efficiencies and/or cost-savings.


    • Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc.
    • Employees must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.

    Minimum Qualifications


    • Experience architecting and maintaining Linux based environments (3 years).

    • Experience with standard DevOps tools (2 years).

    • Experience with Docker and Docker Swarm or Kubernetes (1 years).

    • Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills.

    • Experience with one programming language.

    • Experience with Apache HTTP, Tomcat, Solr, Zabbix, Ansible, Drupal, AEM, and MySQL.

    • Up to 10% Travel Required.


    Desired Qualifications


    • Azure Administrator Certification (or equivalent).


    Education


    Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA from a four-year college or university is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
