Litigation Docket Manager jobs in Bergenfield, NJ
Litigation Docket Manager oversees the team responsible for tracking the organization's docket files and records. Ensures records and deadlines are properly and timely entered into the calendar. Being a Litigation Docket Manager generates reports detailing action items and due dates. Monitors deadlines and works with attorneys to resolve scheduling conflicts. Additionally, Litigation Docket Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Litigation Docket Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Litigation Docket Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The ideal candidate must possess 7-10 years of litigation experience. Previous litigation and personal injury experience are required and medical malpractice experience is a plus. Compensation:$70,000 yearly, DOE
Responsibilities:Including, but not limited to:
- Setting up case structure, organizing case documents and calendar dates
- Preparing and filing legal documents including discovery requests/responses
- Researching expert witnesses and scheduling depositions
- Communicating with legal team members, clients, counsel, experts, and court
- Subpoena medical and other records
- Reviewing documents/medical records and preparing detailed summaries/chronologies
- Self-starter who can work with little supervision, be extremely organized, and very detail-oriented
- Ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize incoming work to meet deadlines
- Demonstrate a professional demeanor to problem-solve during busy times
- Follow through with minimal direction and take initiative
- Treat others with respect and contribute to a positive team environment
- Knowledge of Trial pad and/or TrialWorks a plus
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word and PDF conversion software. Excel and PowerPoint experience is necessary
- Knowledge of Local and State discovery rules
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organization skills and attention to detail
