Litigation Docket Manager oversees the team responsible for tracking the organization's docket files and records. Ensures records and deadlines are properly and timely entered into the calendar. Being a Litigation Docket Manager generates reports detailing action items and due dates. Monitors deadlines and works with attorneys to resolve scheduling conflicts. Additionally, Litigation Docket Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Litigation Docket Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Litigation Docket Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Job Description Summary
    DLA Piper is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Litigation group. The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 3 years of litigation experience (preferably gained while practicing at an AmLaw 100 firm), experience with products liability and/or complex commercial litigation, and must have a science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology) to be considered. Superior research, analytical, and writing skills are highly preferred.  Experience with pharmaceutical and medical device industry and clients is a plus.  Additionally, strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team, are a must.  The ability to multi-task and prioritize is also required.  We prefer candidates with immediately transferable skills and strong academic backgrounds from nationally recognized schools.  Strong project management skills and attention to detail will be critical to success. The associate’s primary responsibilities will involve working with experts; assisting with fact development and depositions; reviewing and drafting discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda; and helping develop case strategy. This position is open to any of our U.S. offices.

    Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements
    Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

    Pay Transparency
    In accordance with California, New York, and Washington's Pay Transparency Law, the pay range for this position, if hired to work in California, New York, or Washington is $250,000-$370,000 per year. The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience and overall qualifications.
