    A Senior Litigation Attorney I is high-level attorney with 5 years of law practice experience with no book. The successful Senior Litigation Attorney I is self-directed and thrives with lots of support and autonomy. The Senior Litigation Attorney I generally receive a substantial portion (approximately 70%) of their work through Gravis Law’s lead generation and marketing and/or other attorneys in the office. A high-level Senior Litigation Attorney I is expected to generate a portion (30%) of their own billable work. They are expected to be able to present at one event and at one organization leadership event. Attorneys have access to coaching and support services for Attorney development and networking. The Firm prioritizes a work-life integration, a collaborative culture, and a competitive compensation & incentive structure that is unique to the industry. 


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Successful record of mediation experience 
    • Significant and successful trial experience 
    • Researching and analyzing the law on complex legal issues
    • Writing memorandums, briefs, letters, and other documents 
    • Marketing your and the firm’s services to prospective clients
    • Performing discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation
    • Performing due diligence in all matters 
    • Strong communication and advocacy skills, including competence in empathetic listening.
    • Managing a schedule to allow for consults and closure of consults to sufficient reach production/collection objectives. Depending on practice area this may include outside core hour and weekend consults. 
    • Closing consults within Gravis range of 30-50% depending on practice area. 
    • Timely approval of invoices is critical to the health of the business on a month-to-month basis monthly cycle. Failure to do so on a recurring basis may result in disciplinary and timely financial. 
    • Ensure support staff are fully utilized and productive.
    • Accurately and completely update CC with fees, engagement, trust, client information, invoices etc. as required. 
    • If over-subscribed share work tasks with other attorney and support staff to ensure we are meeting our objective to serve our communities.
    • Actively engage in brand (personal and firm) expansion through blogs social media posts, board, and organization participation, etc. 
    • Actively seek positive comments from successful client engagements and positive star reviews.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    The Attorney is expected to bill an average of 1500 hours annually, with collections expected on 1400 hours of invoices worked while working a full-time employment schedule. This roughly translates to billing 30 hours per week at 50 weeks annually.


    Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*:

    • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills. 
    • Excellent legal research skills. 
    • Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school. 
    • Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the bar in the state in which you intend to practice. 
    • 5 years of experience as an attorney. 

    *Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.


    ATTORNEY EMPLOYEE BENEFITS, COMPENSATION & BONUS PROGRAM:

    Wage: Potential total compensation is  $120,000 - $130,000 per year with base and bonus

    Bonus Program: The Attorney is expected to meet all Quarterly Collection Requirements. Additional information about the Quarterly Collection Requirement and the Attorney Bonus Program will be provided to the Attorney for review and signature.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Duties will be performed in a standard office environment. Employees must have the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Gravis policy. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally be required to work weekends, holidays, be on call, and some employees could be required to travel overnight on occasion
