Litigation Support Specialist jobs in Poughkeepsie, NY

We are a growing legal support company providing services to law firms that enhance their efforts to prepare cases for trial. We are seeking to hire a PT Medical Record Retrieval Specialist (25 Hours Per week).

Essential Functions

• Route work orders to appropriate hospitals and medical providers in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records and enter system updates/notes.
• Receive and properly handle settled/cancel emails received from clients and close out work orders.
• Perform preliminary research on bad addresses or contact info and editing system data appropriately.
• Expedite orders by calling and verifying addresses and business hours and faxing authorizations.
• Conduct follow up phone calls to ensure completeness of requests and timely retrievals.
• Assist with clerical duties such as fax or mail.
• Receive and properly documents incoming calls from clients and medical facilities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with 3 to 5 years of experience in the medical, legal, or large scale record keeping field; or
• Associate's degree with 2 to 3 years professional office experience; or
• Bachelor's degree
• Prior work experience in medical-billing, legal, or insurance claims office is a plus.

Skills And Abilities

• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Excellent telephone etiquette, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Has some understanding of the internal processes of medical facilities and med-legal terminology.
• Basic understanding of databases
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to type 35 wpm
• Bi-lingual a plus
