Aspire Servicing Center, the loan servicing area for Aspire Resources Inc., is looking for a loan counselor to answer inbound calls from and make outbound calls to customers regarding student loan accounts. Loan counselors strive to provide exceptional customer service as they research accounts to accurately and completely answer customer questions. The position has a flexible hybrid work schedule with at least one in-office day per week required.

Job Responsibilities

The qualified candidate will:

• Provide excellent customer service on both inbound and outbound telephone calls regarding student loans.
• Research customer questions and accounts and provide accurate information to callers.
• Learn and utilize the loan servicing computer system.
• Update computer system with accurate notes during/after every communication.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Competencies

The qualified candidate will:

• Have a positive mental attitude.
• Have outstanding oral communication skills and a strong work ethic.
• Be detail-oriented with good time management skills.
• Possess excellent phone etiquette.
• Be proficient in general PC skills including Windows-based programs and typing.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

• A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree or higher preferred.
• A minimum of one year of customer service experience.
• Keyboarding of 25 WPM.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality.

Physical Activities/Working Conditions

The position requires the employee to:

• Sit full-time or use an adjustable sit-stand desk.
• Use office equipment including personal computer, keyboard and mouse.
• Frequently interact with others in person, over the phone and via email.
