    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Digital Forensic Examiner 1, you will conduct examinations of digital equipment and media allegedly used to commit a suspected crime. You will preserve the original evidence and produce an image for analysis purposes. You will also troubleshoot, repair, assemble, and disassemble digital devices to access evidence. In addition, you will assist in court preparation of evidence and media used during prosecution and testify on digital evidence, the procedures used to obtain the evidence, and the findings of digital forensic examiners.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:
    • Full-time employment
    • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
    • This position is not eligible for telework.
    • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $64,959.00 (before taxes).

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
    • A bachelor’s degree in digital forensics, cyber forensics, forensic science, computer science or any information technology field that includes 3 college credits in computer networking and 3 college credits in information technology security, network security, or cyber security; or
    • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 3 college credits in computer networking and 3 college credits in information technology security, network security, or cybersecurity.

    Necessary Special Requirement:
    • You must possess an active motor vehicle license.

    Other Requirements:
    • You must possess the ability to obtain and maintain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.

    • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
