Loan Examiner Manager manages a team of loan examiners responsible for credit and loan auditing and examination. Ensures procedures are followed and all loan policy guidelines are appropriately applied. Being a Loan Examiner Manager contributes to or leads more complex exams. Mentors, trains, and assesses the examination team. Additionally, Loan Examiner Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Loan Examiner Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Loan Examiner Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Oswego County Social Services has immediate openings for Support Examiners to investigate, locate, and secure support payment from individuals legally responsible for the support of children. Most of the investigative work is performed in the office via personal interview, correspondence, phone contacts, and computerized records. The work is performed under the general supervision of a Senior Support Examiner.
Qualifications: Two (2) years of study (60 credit hours) at a regionally accredited or NYS registered college, university, or business school; OR Two (2) years of experience in examining, investigating, or evaluating claims for assistance, veteran's or unemployment benefits, insurance, or a similar program operating under established criteria for eligibility.
This title has been approved to be filled without the need to take an exam through the HELP Program. Candidates appointed permanently to this title will NOT need to take an exam and will remain in their position even when the HELP program ends.
Pay Rate: $20.98 per hour plus competitive benefits package including: health, life, dental and vision insurance; NYS Retirement; and Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
