Position Overview
Increases consumer mortgage loan portfolio by developing business contacts and a qualified customer base.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
The Loan Officer (LO) is responsible for attracting new mortgage loan applicants by developing a strong network in the community and surrounding area by becoming involved with local realtors, making sales calls and attending networking events.
The Loan Officer (LO) will examine applications and supporting documentation to estimate credit-worthiness, repayment risk and program qualifications. The LO will complete mortgage loans by collecting documentation, verifying information and preparing the mortgage loan for the loan processing and underwriting process. The LO must ensure the mortgage loan meets operational standards, such as productivity, quality and customer-service, set forth by the company. They must also protect the company’s image by keeping loan information confidential. The LO will accompany their customers during the loan closing process.
Continuing Education and updating job knowledge will be the responsibility of the Loan Officer. The LO will be required to participate in educational opportunities and read current publications to obtain the minimum qualifications set forth by individual state licensing institutions.
Other duties and responsibilities may arise out of business need and be assigned at a later time.

NMLS license will be required
Travel required locally
Abilities Required
Must be able to sit in office setting for up to 8 hours per day. Limited mobility required to meet with clients both in-house and off premises.
