    Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

    • Performing complex tasks involved in building, repairing, overhauling, modifying, adapting, testing and installing a variety of locking and security devices typically found on doors, desks, compartments, mobile equipment, safes and other secured locations.
    • Responsible for the Medical Center Locksmith Program including data entry and updating key information into space files.
    • Responsible for the training and development of Key Control Programs for all Key Control Representatives.
    • Operating a computerized system of records.
    • Conducting training on the Key Control System and required Computerized System Records.
    • Interacting with people at all levels concerning security of keying issues.
    • Establishing and maintaining the Key Control System for Engineering Service.
    • Duplicating and cutting keys, the keying and combinating of locking mechanisms and the management of the key control system for the Medical Center and remote facilities.
    • Reviewing drawings/blueprints provided to determine each type of lock for new construction projects.
    • Performing other related duties as assigned.



    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, subject to change based on the needs of the facility.

    Qualifications

    PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: Position is required to be able to lift 50 pounds and walks, bends, stoops, stands and works in close spaces for long periods of time.

    Position works in a fully secured lock shop containing all required tools, equipment and materials, and performs 60% of preliminary work therein. The remainder of the time is spent working is in the field, both indoors and outdoors. Exposed to possibility of cuts, abrasions, scrapes and bruises. Must wear shields for protection when operating key cutting machine and electric grinder.
