Locksmith is responsible for the maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of locks and keys. Duplicates keys and replaces and re-keys locks as necessary. Being a Locksmith may install or maintain emergency exit systems and electronic access equipment and devices. May design new key or lock systems for an organization. Additionally, Locksmith maintains a thorough records of changes and additions to an organization's key systems. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Locksmith works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Work Schedule: Second Shift (3PM to 11PM) and weekends. Holidays, as needed. Thursday through Monday.
JOB SUMMARY: Install and maintain locks, closures, panic devices, doors, and related hardware, alarms and devices. Maintain computerized record systems for key system tracking. Maintain computerized records for all electronic lock systems. Maintain and repair handicap door operators. Maintain, program, and install electronic lock systems. Assist with the development of new key systems. Perform all related duties.
