Locomotive Engineer drives electric, diesel-electric, or gas-turbine electric locomotives to transport freight and/or passengers between stations. May be required to complete specific trade school courses and possess necessary certifications. Being a Locomotive Engineer is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The primary functions include assisting in the design and development of inspections methods, including procedures, gauging, implementing technologies or programming. This employee works with Quality Control, Product Development and Manufacturing Departments in planning for quality and resolving quality problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering and over one-year experience desired. High School Diploma or G.E.D and 3 years experience as a Quality Technician.
