Additionally, Log Grader and Scaler performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Position Summary :
The Certified Lumber Grader holds grading certification(s) and applies the requisite grading rules of the Western Wood Products Association (WWPA) to identify grades of lumber.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Position Requirements : Must meet position requirements to be considered a candidate for this position.
Possess and maintain at least one grading certification. The National Grading Rules (NGR) Certificate F, "All NGR Grades;
Certificate C, "Commons;" and Certificate A, "Shop" are preferred.
Environmental Conditions :
May be exposed to dust, noise, trip hazards, and extreme temperatures.
Required Personal Protective Equipment :
Individuals must be willing to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Positions may require additional PPE at specific times.
Examples of PPE which may be required include high visibility garments, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, a hard hat, foot protection, and a face shield.
