Log Grader and Scaler jobs in Raleigh, NC

What you will do:

• Provide fire protection service by monitoring alarm system and taking appropriate action when needed
• Inspect incoming loads of logs in the absence of wood inspector
• Inspect cutting and welding areas during non-operating hours
• Weigh trucks in and out of mill
• Clean, sweep and mop scale house
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports to see that they balance
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Required skills and experience you will need:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work outdoors in all temperatures in loud, high-volume environments performing physical tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position which includes walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform all tasks in accordance with West Fraser safety policies and procedures
• Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends
• Recognize and support our team culture, communicating effectively with all team members
