Log Grader and Scaler grades logs in a sorting yard, millpond, or log deck according to industry or company standards. Being a Log Grader and Scaler is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Log Grader and Scaler performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Responsibilities:
-Travel around the nearby citys helping build decks/fences.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials
- Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding
-Following instructions
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures
- Collaborate with other carpenters and construction professionals on projects
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a carpenter in the restoration industry
- Familiarity with power tools and concrete forming techniques
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods
- Ability to read blueprints and follow building plans accurately
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks for extended periods of time
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Drivers license
