Logistics Clerk provides clerical support for inbound and outbound logistical operations. Coordinates inventory management, warehousing, and transportation activities in order to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs. Being a Logistics Clerk supports a variety of logistical functions, including sourcing, receiving, purchasing, and dispatching. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, Logistics Clerk typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Logistics Clerk works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Education and Experience Requirements
Associates degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience related to transportation/Supply Chain.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for scheduling, shipping, and receiving as well as inventory tracking of products to achieve the timely and effective distribution of goods.
Processing, tracking, and auditing of freight invoices and labels for both the United States and Canada.
Production of route orders for trucks to ensure the timeliness of deliveries, while optimizing efficiency for routing schedules and loads shipped (e.g., utilizing available capacity).
Be available to both internal and external customers for verbal and electronic inquiries.
Managing office supplies as well as producing a monthly newsletter.
Physical Demands
Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must possess sight and hearing senses or by the use of prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear, to use both hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch, and climb or balance.
