Summary of the position:

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating all shipments from Sullair to our customers or other partners. The Logistics Specialist works closely with the warehouse, production, sales support and other departments within Sullair to ensure timely shipping and excellent customer service.

This position is located in Michigan City, Indiana. 

Duties and responsibilities:

• Coordinate shipments from Sullair facilities to customers or other partners via various modes including LTL, Truckload, Flatbed, Parcel, Air, and Ocean.
• Work directly with carriers, transportation partners, and freight forwarders as necessary to acquire rate quotes, book shipments, and arrange pickups/deliveries.
• Prepare shipping documentation for all domestic and international shipments.
• Work with the warehouse for shipment priority and general shipment preparation.
• Arrange transportation for drop shipments from vendors to customers or any other shipment that Sullair is responsible for.
• Process receipts for drop shipments.
• Process freight claims for lost or damaged freight.
• Perform other logistics functions including debit/credit requests for freight charges, approving freight charges, or any other logistics-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Associate degree or other post high school training/experience – 2 years minimum

Professional experience:

• 2 years Logistics experience preferred

Key Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
• SAP knowledge preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
