Logistics Director manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Director oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Director ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Logistics Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Summary:

    The Logistics Coordinator is primarily responsible for efficiently coordinating the flow of shipments, providing outstanding customer service and operational knowledge of customer products, procedures and processes on a daily basis.


    The start time for this shift is TBD, must be able to work until at least 4:30pm and OT is expected.


    Primary Duties:

    • Coordinate the picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of productivity.
    • Control and authority over all aspects of inventory and order management.
    • Handle all crisis resolutions.
    • Manage inventory control and quality assurance for customer products.
    • Direct control over traffic, IT and operational processes that affect a positive outcome in the area of customer service.
    • Establish rapport with customers and interact to ensure open communication for problem resolution.
    • Provide timely feedback to customers regarding service failures or any other concerns.
    • Exercise discretion in inventory situations to ensure orders are shipped complete.
    • Directs workflow of orders to Traffic and Operations Departments for timely shipment.
    • Address all customer issues and ensure effective and long-term problem resolution.
    • Make decisions and dictate to Operations what priorities are and flow of work to be accomplished.
    • Handle all billing and collection issues.
    • Handle irate customers in a professional manner.
    • Obtain customer feedback.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Education/Experience:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three years or more related experience in customer service, preferably 3rd party logistics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, pick tickets, customer orders, procedure manuals, and requisitions
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts
    • Ability to interpret technical documents
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office operations – Excel proficiency preferred)
    • Prior warehouse experience preferred.
    • Experience with SAP preferred.

    Work Environment:

    The performance of this position requires exposure to the warehouse areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and foot protection. The employee is frequently exposed to hot, humid, and cold conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is moderate.
