Logistics Director jobs in Detroit, MI

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee all Conestoga and Open Deck business that runs through the organization.
• Provide direction and supervision to division by delegating workload, measuring performance, and maintaining appropriate staff levels through recruitment, selection, and retention activities.
• Work with the business development team to provide industry expertise, guidance, and support with Specialized business.
• Assist in selling Specialized to specific customers to find new opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction and high service levels.
• Coordinate fleet dispatch needs with the Asset department to assist with the routing of drivers.
• Work with Partner Carriers to fill capacity needs for Specialized business.
• Look for and implement continuous improvement items to improve the company and fleet.

Qualifications:

• A thorough knowledge of logistics activities is essential for position success
• College degree in Supply Chain/Logistics or 1-2 years of prior experience in logistics operations
• Previous experience working with a Transportation Management System (TMS), preferably Mcleod
• Ability to work in Excel and Word
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $132,000.00 per year
