Logistics Director manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Director oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Director ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     Description

    We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator with expertise in Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipping to join our team. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and timely movement of goods via LTL carriers. Your primary goal will be to ensure the seamless coordination of shipments, optimize routes, minimize costs, and maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. LTL Shipment Coordination:

    - Coordinate all aspects of LTL shipments, including pickup, delivery, and transit.

    - Work closely with LTL carriers to schedule pickups and ensure timely delivery of goods.

    - Monitor shipment status and proactively address any delays or issues that may arise.

    2. Route Optimization:

    - Analyze shipping routes to optimize efficiency and minimize transit times.

    - Identify opportunities to consolidate shipments and reduce transportation costs.

    - Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and route planning software to streamline operations.

    3. Documentation and Compliance:

    - Ensure accuracy and completeness of all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs paperwork.

    - Stay up-to-date with regulations governing LTL shipments and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

    4. Customer Service:

    - Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding LTL shipments.

    - Address customer inquiries, provide shipment updates, and resolve any issues or concerns in a timely manner.

    - Maintain strong relationships with customers and LTL carriers to enhance overall satisfaction.

    5. Cost Management:

    - Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.

    - Negotiate rates with LTL carriers to secure favorable pricing and terms.

    - Implement cost-effective strategies to optimize shipping budgets while maintaining service quality.

    6. Inventory Management:

    - Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure accurate inventory levels for LTL shipments.

    - Track inventory movement and reconcile discrepancies as needed.

    - Assist in managing inventory replenishment and stock rotation processes.

    Position Qualifications

    Education/Experience/Skills

    • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in logistics coordination, with a focus on LTL shipping preferred.
    • Strong understanding of LTL transportation processes, regulations, and industry best practices.
    • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and route planning software.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
