Job Summary:

This position is responsible for locating and booking outside carriers on Company freight.

• Ensures that freight is moving from its original point to its final destination.
• Must be able to exercise discretion and use independent judgment in booking appropriate carrier, negotiating carrier rates, and resolving "problem" loads.
• Must manage transportation arrangements from pre-pickup through delivery.
• Must be able to communicate with shippers, carriers, and your team members.
• Must build and maintain carrier relationships.
• Must procure business for the company.
• Must service the company’s customer base and advise carriers accordingly.

Book, Track and Trouble Shoot Loads

• Research and match appropriate carriers for freight.
• Book outside carriers on company freight
• Contact, negotiate and secure carriers for loads booked
• Use urgency to deal with any issues, i.e., claims, detention, OS&D, layover, breakdowns, etc.
• Make any necessary adjustments to the shipping service to see that the freight is delivered to the satisfaction of the shipper, receiver and the customer

Represents the Company with Integrity and Professionalism

• Maintain proper updates on carriers assigned to Garrison Logistics
• Resolve transportation problems with urgency and professionalism
• Answer brokerage phone line, directing calls to the correct person and acting as a resource to customers if appropriate person is not available
• Functions as a Team.
• Logistics Coordinators are expected to "Get The Job Done" by staying late as needed to achieve required results
• Other duties as may be assigned
