Logistics Director manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Director oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Director ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Logistics Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. For more information, visit www.pepboys.com. Position Summary This role will act as the finance business partner to the SVP - Supply Chain and the Supply Chain organization. The role will own the budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for the entire Supply Chain process, including direct material sourcing, distribution center network (26 distribution centers), indirect sourcing, and all expense, capital, and inventory within the entire system. Duties & Responsibilities * Serve as dedicated financial partner to the supply chain organization. * Lead business case analysis across various productivity initiatives. * Play a key role in designing the Company's future warehousing and logistics footprint. * Drive supply chain performance through the development and support of most critical KPIs. * Drive direct and indirect material deflation across multiple commodities. * Further integrate Sales & Operating Planning (S&OP) Process with overall cross-business operating plan. * Manage relevant systems and processes development. * Develop and prepare materials for Senior Leadership and Board of Directors meetings. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, operations management or equivalent training required. * Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain finance roles or finance roles with a similar focus. * Strong problem-solving skills, organizational and project management skills. * Strong analytical and statistical skills. * Strong people leader - ability to lead cross-functionally. * Strong communication skills - both verbally and in writing independently. * Strong ability to drive change in a status quo environment. * Customer service oriented, recognizing the importance of high-quality customer service. * Exercises excellent professional judgment. * Ability to multitask and manage large, complex projects in parallel. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing work accordingly. * Adaptable to change in the organizational environment. * Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
