Job Summary: Responsible for the supervision of the daily operations of the patient logistics team. Works in collaboration with other department leaders to manage all internal and external patient movements and allocation of bed assignments. Assists the Director of Patient Access with all patient flow design, implementation, and workflow; coordinates the development, implementation, and operation of Access Services across the CaroMont Health Care System. Ensures programs algin with the health system’s strategic initiatives with emphasis on customer service and overall patient experience. Oversees the delivery of services that facilitate patient access across all points in the system. Holds 24-hour accountability for Patient Access services across the health system.
Qualifications: Associate’s degree and graduate from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license) required. BLS required. Minimum of five years nursing experience and three years progressive leadership experience in an acute hospital setting required with preferred experience in Critical Care or Emergency Department. Minimum of three years of patient placement/bed management, transfer center or logistics center experience preferred. Effective communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail, self-directed and a positive attitude are essential. Possess ability to use critical thinking skills, logic, and reasoning to address complex situations. Ability to organize and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively and tactfully with department leaders, providers, and the public.
