The Land O’Lakes Supply Chain provides strategic leadership across the company’s many business units. The team plays a significant role in fueling revenue growth and profitability through operational excellence, quality, process improvement and innovation.
As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations of our 100,000 S.F Purina Animal Nutrition Distribution Center located in Shreveport, Louisiana. Duties include the leadership and development all warehouse employees in a 2-shift/16-hour/5-day operation. This is a union Facility.
You will be responsible for ensuring that safety, customer service, quality, cost, and inventory control programs for the site meet organizational and regulatory compliance requirements. You will maintain effective business relationships with local sales, customer service and manufacturing plant leaders as well as corporate business partners.
Experience-Education Required:
High School Diploma and 3-5 years of progressive managing day/day operations in a distribution environment.
Must possess managerial experience with the ability to engage, develop, and motivate a diverse staff, while adhering to corporate policies and procedures. Manage a group of 8-10 associates.
Experience-Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or similar degree
Understanding of Federal/State/Local Operations
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships across all levels of departments to implement strategic solutions to operational challenges.
Foster and reinforce a positive, collaborative environment that respects and values diversity.
Experience in a union environment.
Competencies-Skills Required:
Integrity, safety, mobilizing talent, computer aptitude and a working knowledge of supply chain processes including transportation, inventory management, warehouse operations, safety, security and quality standards are required.
Ability to multi-task, work cooperatively and collaboratively, communicate effectively with multiple business partners and adept at influencing, inspiring, and motivating others as needed.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Word & Excel).
Ensure safe, efficient warehouse facility operations by advocating and driving safety training & accident prevention.
Preferred Competencies & Other Skills:
Experience and proficiency with WDTime
Maintain & continuously improve cost-efficiency and drive facility performance metrics.
Experience with ERP Systems is highly preferred.
Inventory control experience
WMS System experience.
