Logistics Manager manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Manager oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Manager ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Logistics Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Distribution Center Manager Responsibilities:

     

    • Direct the operations of distribution, packaging, and transportation to achieve company
      objectives and meet customer expectations
    • Evaluate overall operations and develop short and long-term goals to meet organizational
      objectives
    • Oversee all warehousing, distribution, packaging, and transportation operations to ensure
      company and customer requirements are met
    • Focus on continuous improvement and make decisions about enhancing value, service and
      effectiveness, and profitability
    • Direct and oversee programs to ensure safety of all associates, equipment, and property
    • Ensure compliance with all company, customer, and government regulatory requirements
    • Directly manage budget and P&L for operations
    • Develop work plans ensuring appropriate staffing levels, managing labor costs, overtime, and retention
    • Maximizes quality and productivity by understanding and mastering all job standards for each function and evaluating performance variances to identify root cause, corrective action, and training needs
    • Participates in the collection of performance measurements per customer, vendor and/or site requirements
    • Reviews KPIs and makes recommendations for efficiency improvements to both processes and associate performance
    • Establishes a strong relationship with the customer(s)
    • Prepares and submits weekly and monthly reports
    • Deliver a consistent, high-performance experience to our associates and customer
    • Know and be capable of communicating quality, food safety, and customer standards to all employees, customers, and 3rd party auditors as needed
    • Follow corporate and site-specific safety policies and procedures, and correct noncompliance when observed

    Salary: $125,000 - $140,000 annually
