    The Sr. Manager of Manufacturing Engineering has overall responsibility and accountability for, tooling, equipment automation, risk management, and manufacturing engineering disciplines (designing, implementing, and monitoring all processes and systems associated with process reliability, capital investments, and technical capability). The position balances projects, tactical implementation, and day-to-day execution to support the plant, staff, and direct reports, while facilitating efficient manufacturing operations across the organization to deliver commitments and goals.

    Essential Functions Statement(s)

    • Support execution of overall manufacturing site plans and lead technical implementation where appropriate; identify and recommend ways to enhance efficiency, quality and safety
    • Coach and mentor teams on developing and implementing cross-functional solutions to complex issues at each site, capturing best in class solutions
    • Draft monthly reports highlighting activities across the businesses manufacturing engineering teams
    • Manage multiple teams simultaneously and communicate progress to senior leadership as requested
    • Lead site-specific projects leading them to world class performance through technology improvements, process harmonization and standardization
    • Lead process development and improvement activities at each of the sites
    • Support all plants manufacturing and engineering core competencies by coaching and mentoring site managers and engineering personnel
    • Develop a team of skilled manufacturing engineers and technicians to support manufacturing sites
    • Provide guidance and oversight for large- and small-scale manufacturing projects to include project timelines, capital requests and budget responsibility
    • Assess cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; makes and implements recommendations to reduce costs and improve
    • Analyze technology, resource needs, and production demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects
    • Lead new equipment specification, selection, purchase and support on-site installation
    • Identify and support future Automation goals and objectives where needed
    • Assists in developing the departmental budgets
    • Perform other duties as assigned

     

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work assignments; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing concerns and resolving problems.

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent required.

     

    Experience:

    • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience (manufacturing, machining, assembly, integration, etc.) required.
    • Minimum 7 years of supervisory experience.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC industry preferred.

     

    Computer Skills:

    • Proficient with MS Office
    • Experience with ERP preferred

    Certificates & Licenses:

    • Lean / Six Sigma is a plus

     

    Other Requirements:

    • Thorough understanding of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare budgets and records.
