Supports and ensures qualified loss control service to agents and insured clients within an assigned territory. Additionally, Loss Control Supervisor promotes awareness and conducts safe work environment training. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Loss Control Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions.     By joining the Division of Forestry/Campbellsville Branch/Section I as a/an Environmental Control Supervisor in Taylor County, you will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to ensuring the programmatic integrity of the forest stewardship program, and the consistent delivery of services to the public. During the performance of your assigned duties, you will interact on a daily/weekly basis with not only forest landowners and the general public, but with branch personnel, branch management, and the division's program staff.

    Holders of the Environmental Control Supervisor position will complete tasks such as:
    • Implementing environmental control programs
    • Supervising Foresters, Forest Ranger Technicians, and Environmental Scientists
    • Entering data, maintaining integrity, and monitoring accomplishments of various branch databases
    • Serving on the branch management team, and assisting the Environmental Control Manager
    • Developing and monitoring the branch operating budget
    • Assuming responsibility for the branch in the absence of the Environmental Control Manager
    • Participating in forest fire prevention and control

    Minimum Requirements
    EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a natural or physical science.

    EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Five years of experience in natural resources, environmental control, mining reclamation, mining inspection or regulation of mining activities, energy conservation, energy development, energy management, blasting activities, or oil and gas well inspection.

    Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Graduate study in a natural, biological, or physical science will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

    Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in natural resources, environmental control, mineral extraction, mining reclamation, mining or mining inspection or experience dealing with the regulation of mining activities (such as mine permit preparation and review or sediment pond and hollow fill design), energy conservation, energy development, energy management, blasting activities, or oil and gas well inspection will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

    Probationary Period
