MRI Technologist operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies. Uses knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to create high quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other medical professionals. Being an MRI Technologist modifies technical settings and adjusts scanning parameters to enhance images and minimize unnecessary exposure. Performs routine inspections and maintenance on scanner and archives imaging data. Additionally, MRI Technologist typically requires an associate degree in a related area. Requires ARRT certification. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The MRI Technologist works under moderate supervision. Required: Completion of course of study resulting in acquisition of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and Radiographic Radiologic Technologist (RRT) licensure
Experience:
Required: • One (1) year experience in hospital environment
Licenses/Certificates:
Preferred - Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI
Required - Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required - Due by close on the last day of the month after two full months of work
