MRI Technologist operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies. Uses knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to create high quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other medical professionals. Being an MRI Technologist modifies technical settings and adjusts scanning parameters to enhance images and minimize unnecessary exposure. Performs routine inspections and maintenance on scanner and archives imaging data. Additionally, MRI Technologist typically requires an associate degree in a related area. Requires ARRT certification. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The MRI Technologist works under moderate supervision. In this role you will get to: Under the direction of the Director/Manager of Radiology Services, is responsible for the acquisition of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of patients of all ages for diagnostic and/or research purposes, utilizing advanced aspects of computer assisted, digital image recording and analysis systems. Provides high quality MRI scans through operation of specialized equipment which ensures optimum diagnostic clarity for physician interpretation.
Education Qualifications:No educational requirements
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Must be registered in MRI by the ARRT within two years of hire/transfer to the position.
