This is a non-rotating, straight 8-hour shift position with a normal schedule of M-F, but some weekends may be required.

Safety

The operator follows prescribed safety procedures (Ref. SHMS 004).

Responsibilities

The stretch wrap operator is responsible for the following :

• Ensuring proper machine set up.
• Ensuring proper dye tank start up
• Issuing lot numbers
• Issuing prep notices
• Performing twist checks
• Issuing tube colors
• Performing a variety of quality checks
• Performing barber pole checks.
• Performing dye sock testing
• Inspect and record dye tail samples.
• Must certify as Robotics operator.
• Relieving superba operators for breaks - personal time as trained.
• Perform reworks as needed.
• Keeping hands clean at all time when handling yarn.
• Inspects machines for off quality and yarn mixes.
• Perform other job duties as requested by your immediate manager. Operator must fill out JSA if necessary.

Authorized Shut Down

The operator is authorized to shut down the stretch wrap machine or hyster if it is unsafe.

High School Diploma or equivalent education and / or experience

Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools typically found in carpet / non-woven- yarn production or a related industry.

Proven manufacturing experience typically developed through previous experience.
