Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for employee efficiency and production requirements.
· Operate and setup production machinery required by Supervisor.
· Preset all production tools when necessary.
· Must be able to inspect and perform minor repairs to production fixtures.
· Troubleshoot technical problems and escalate to the Supervisor, if necessary.
· Capable of following, training to, proving, and signing off the training checklist for all new and existing Plant employees.
· Must be trained as a First Responder (we supply certification).
· Maintain a safe, clean, neat, accident-free, and healthy work environment.
· Read blueprints or job order for product specifications (dimensions and tolerances) and tooling instructions (fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut), and determine the sequence of operations.
· Select, position, and secure tool in tool holder (chuck, collet, or tool-post).
· Report any malfunction, programming error, damaged machinery/tooling/equipment/product, and/or any other nonconformities immediately to the Supervisor.
· Using clamps and wrenches, position and secure workpiece in holding device, machine table, chuck, center or fixture.
· Move controls to position tool and workpiece in relation to each other, and set specified feeds, speeds and depth to cut.
· Observe operation of machine and verify conformance of machined workpiece to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as fixed gauges, calipers and micrometers.
· Document accurate time keeping on an on-going basis.
· Lift (manually or using hoist), position, and secure workpiece in a chuck.
· Report any safety/company policy violations immediately to the Supervisor.
· Report and/or communicate any defects found and complete appropriate paperwork.
· Follow corresponding work instructions and Quality Check Sheets.
· Monitor machines for any problems occurring during production.
· Change cutting tools as needed.
· Follow all required preventive maintenance procedures.
· Communicate effectively with co-workers and Supervisor (coordinate activity and receive instruction).
· Inspect and measure parts to maintain statistical process control charts.
Education Requirement:
· High School diploma or GED.
· 3 years of work experience required 5 years preferred.
Trade school, vocational education or an apprenticeship program will be taken into consideration in place of work experience.
Qualification Requirements:
· Speak, read and write English.
· Successfully pass drug screen.
· Successfully pass background check.
· (Preferred) Leader experience with a team.
· Ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts and draw a valid conclusion.
· Ability to interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
· Mechanically inclined with a precise attention to detail.
· Demonstrated ability to perform basic math functions, including trigonometry.
· Have an understanding of company Quality Policy and ISO 9001 fundamentals.
· Have solid written and verbal communication skills that can be practiced at all levels of the organization.
· Ability to use the latest technology/software provided by Company (including but not limited to basic computer skills).
· Ability to adhere to all OSHA safety rules and regulations.
· Ability to work with deadlines.
· Have good organizational skills.
· Have a precise attention to detail.
· Have an excellent sense of priorities and be a self-motivator.
· Physical Demands:
1. Stand, walk, push, pull, climb stairs and ladders, reach overhead and bend to the floor up to 8 hours a day.
2. Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
3. Ability to safely lift 50 pounds.
4. Senses: Visual (peripheral and depth perception, close vision of 20 inches or less, distance vision of more than 20 feet).
5. Hearing: Ability to hear audible notifications in a noisy (running machines) environment.
6. Visual: Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts.
· May require working overtime and/or Saturday hours depending on customer needs.'
