Being a Machine Shop Maintenance Supervisor oversees the setup and use of tools and equipment before production use in order to ensure the optimum level of safety. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Machine Shop Maintenance Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. General knowledge of medical facility maintenance problems in accordance with current State and Federal regulations and company polices and procedures. Knowledge of and ability to meet regulations of State, Federal and O.S.H.A. requirements. Ability to trouble-shoot to prevent problems and ability to repair existing problems in general carpentry, electrical, plumbing and automobile servicing. Ability to supervise any helpers provided. Routine check-up on the property to keep building and grounds in good condition. Order necessary supplies and pick them up locally.
