ESSENTIAL DUTIES:- Daily leader of a production area that assists and trains other personnel.
- Follow blueprints to create parts or components.
- Operate appropriate equipment for specified work areas within your operations.
- Knowledgeable in all areas of work environment and team.
- Troubleshoot issues that arise on the shop floor and confers with supervisors and production personnel to resolve problems, keeping projects moving for the best outcome.
- Prepare product(s) for manufacture by reading blueprints and utilizing appropriate tools.
- Responsible for identifying and moving all products to the proper location within the shop operating a forklift, when certified.
- Ensures all equipment is properly set up and used safely and that all safety devices are in use.
- Performs first article inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required by standards.
- Tagging and identifying all finished parts and components as required.
- Independently operates all production equipment as appropriate for area.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair as required.
- Recommend improvement on processes and scheduling jobs as needed.
- Interpret mechanical drawings as required.
- Assist supervisors to ensure production goals attainment.
- Assist supervisors to lead personnel, manage performance, time and attendance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.
- Working knowledge of fixturing and equipment set up parameters.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 45 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, or bending positions.
- Ability to work with arms above head.
- Ability to work from crawling or lying positions.
- Ability to safely use hand, air, pneumatic, and power tools, and machinery.
- Ability to understand and operate all safety equipment in the area.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
- Proficient in use of linear and other measuring devices.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Knowledge of basic geometry.
- Proficient in the interpretation of complex blueprints and/or mechanical drawings.
