Position Summary:
This position acts as the Supervisor for the department responsible for day-to-day oversight of department production and staff. This person works with Sales staff as a liaison between the departments to promote team work and increased production and sales.
Level of Authority:
This position performs routine duties independently in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Work Environment:
Most of the work is performed in an industrial, non-climate controlled environment. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work area is normally moderate, but may occasionally exceed moderate levels. This position is required to wear appropriate PPE including appropriate hearing protection when working in the teardown area.
Essential Job Responsibilities:

Supervises the department and combine disassembly activities.

Holds regular team meetings with staff.

Produce and maintain required reports for personnel, approves department timecard entry and completes staff evaluations.

Acts as liaison to Sales to promote teamwork and coordinate production schedules.

Tag and inventory incoming combines.

Oversees and maintains combine parts warehouses and inventory; including proper bin and ack labels

Responsible for neat and orderly stored combine parts, ensuring racking and shelving is adequate and installed properly with enough space to store product.

Acts as Parts Runner for combine parts.

Insures upkeep and proper use of all equipment, and checks that necessary equipment is on hand.

Communicates with department Manager on staffing, production schedules and other issues pertaining to the combine department.

Responsible tor training new staff, and makes sure staff are current on all mandatory training.

Follows and enforces all safety rules and regulations; keeps work environment clean and free of hazards.

Follows all departmental procedures and policies. Recommends changes to procedures for Manager approval.
Qualifications and Capabilities:
Technical
-
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
-
2-5 years prior combine mechanic or similar experience required.

Excellent time management skills.
-
Must pass a pre-employment physical capacity assessment.
-
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical
-
Ability to frequently lift, carry, bend, stoop, and/or reach. Ability to exert 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently (Level 4 Heavy Work).

Ability to stand and walk, and drive as required throughout the day.

Ability to use a computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal. Ability to see details at close range.

Finger, hand, and wrist dexterity sufficient to manipulate hand tools and powered equipment.

Required baseline hearing assessment upon hire and annually thereafter.
