Best Home Furnishing is seeking qualified individuals for 2nd Shift Gerber Cutter Operator/Layout. Normal shift days are Monday – Thursday and normal shift hours are 4:50 pm EST – 3:20 am EST. Some overtime required.

Job Summary: Cut fabric into parts using automated Gerber Cutting machine.

Essential functions of the job include the following:

• Lifts rolls from cart, carries roll to table, and place fabric on roll holder.
• Layout fabric on table to length based on patter specifications.
• Cuts fabric by pulling end cutter across fabric.
• Set up and operate automated cutting machine to cut fabric.
• Enter commands in computer console to retrieve preprogramming cutting instructions and start machine.
• Remove cut piles from table and sort onto cardboard, then place to cart for subsequent production use.
• Other duties as assigned

Job requirements:

• Repetitive pulling, pinching and gripping with both hands
• Maintain consistent work pace.
• Able to work scheduled hours on a regular basis, which could include overtime
• Ability to work within a team
• Adhere to quality standards and safety practices as defined in the work instructions.
• Rotate on a weekly basis between laying out fabric and operating automated cutter.
