Job Title: Fabric and Leather Cut Machine Operator

Department: Cutting

Reports To: Cutting Supervisor

Salary: Non-Exempt, Hourly Pay Rate

Location: Conover, NC

Hours: Mon. – Thur. from 6a – 3:30p and Fri. 6a – 10a. Overtime as required.

Description

Operate the Gerber Z and/or Taurus Cutting machines efficiently and accurately. These machines cut fabric and/or leather for furniture patterns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load rolls of fabric or leather onto the machine for cutting.
• Accurately inspect fabric or leather for flaws prior to running the cutting program.
• Accurately load the computer program to cut the correct pattern needed for the production ticket.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Other Qualifications:

• Must be able to read/write English.
• Must be able to read a ruler.
• Must be able to read a production ticket in English.
• Must be able to accurately operate the computer program needed for each machine.
• Must be able to bend/stoop.
• Must be able to perform and meet established goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must consistently push/pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication skills is a must to convey information in both written and oral form.
• Strict attention to detail.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to walk and stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
• Must be able to work Weekends and Overtime.
• Must be able to wear required PPE such as Safety Glasses and closed-toe/closed-heel shoes.
• Must be able to adhere to all Safety Policies and Procedures to prevent injuries to yourself and others.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

·        Climate-controlled furniture manufacturing plant. Concrete floors.
