Machine Tool Cutting Operator/Tender jobs in Saginaw, MI

 We are searching for a Field Service Technician who will be focused on machine & tool testing.  Please consider joining our team at one of our company locations – Beaverton, MI; Fremont, OH; or Knoxville, TN.  If location is in Ohio or Tennessee, then will be required to travel to Michigan up to 50% of the time to work with customer machine testing at this site.  This role will be responsible for performing machine and tooling acceptance per customer expectations making necessary adjustments to the machine to run product for customers for acceptance of the machine build.   Will also provide training of customer personnel on proper installation, use and maintenance of machines requiring travel to the customer’s plants for general service calls.   

 KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Receive job instructions from supervisor.
2. Work with little supervision beyond initial orders.
3. Make necessary adjustments to machines to ready them for tryout and customer demonstration. Level and align machine.
4. Check machine out completely, electronically, hydraulically, pneumatically, and mechanically including heaters and ovens.
5. Install tooling in machine and adjust.
6. Run material through machine and produce acceptable samples.  May require various adjustments of machine and tooling.
7. Converse with customer describing results of product run.
8. Set-up and run research and development projects as required.
9. Travel as required to service product lines under BMG - thermoformers, trim presses, upgrades, etc. 
10. Perform final machine tool and tryout checkout notice.

 EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. High School diploma required; higher education preferred.
2. A thorough knowledge of various plastics, heats, and characteristics preferred. (HIPS, PVC, Polystyrene, Polyethylene, ABS, Paper, etc.)
3. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical and electrical assembly and experience on forming of material sheets preferred.
4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
5. Good Communication Skills.
6. Have a working knowledge thermoforming equipment, a wide variety of hand tools, and material handling equipment.
7. Willingness to travel domestic and international up to 50%-75% of the time.  

 ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

1. Lift, push, and pull up 35 to 50 lbs. occasionally.
2. Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
3. Walk for extended periods of time.
4. May work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform sustained manual activities at low to moderate levels of exertion.
5. Must be able to access and navigate within each department at the organization’s facilities (i.e. climb stairs, ladders, etc.)
