Machine Tool Cutting Operator/Tender jobs in Troy, NY

Cardish Machine Works is a third-generation jobbing machine shop specializing in CNC and manual equipment. Our work includes, but is not limited to, fabricating parts, special projects for engineering departments, breakdown repairs, and 24 hour immediate service. In addition to various engineering departments, we work with hydroelectric companies, power generation, paper mills, and cement factories.

CNC Programmer/Operator Responsibilities include:

• Studying blueprints and/or models to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operation, and setup requirements.
• Ability to use but not limited to Gibbscam or Mastercam to complete all programming requirements including feeds and speeds
• Determine the sequence of shaping operations and choose the correct tools required and validate program
• Write or modify existing programs and store them electronically.
• Operates CNC mill/lathe to perform various functions such as surfacing, reaming, boring, drilling, and tapping
• Perform dimensional validation using micrometers, calipers, or relevant measuring tools
• Setup mil by installing and adjusting vices and all material holding devices
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control data

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
