Machinist jobs in Champaign, IL

CNC Machinists are responsible for the set up and operation of a CNC Machining Center (lathes and/or mills primarily) to fabricate aerospace engine parts. 

Essential functions of the position include:

• Operation of manual and CNC Machining Centers
• Visually inspect parts and materials during the production process
• Basic computer skills
• Read and interpret blue prints and customer specifications
• Use of calipers, micrometers, height stands, and indicators
• Daily housekeeping/6S duties
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications for the position include:

• Demonstrated ability with basic math skills
• Prior experience with manual and CNC Machining Centers is preferred
• Demonstrated mechanical ability
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills is preferred
• While performing duties of the job, the employee is required with or without accommodation to:

  • Frequently required to stand and walk and occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
