Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to determine the precise specifications, dimensions, and tolerance levels of the finished product. Being a Machinist selects and operates the appropriate tools to cut, shape, or finish metal, plastic, or composite material. Sets up, services, and maintains equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation. Additionally, Machinist utilizes precision measuring instruments to check the accuracy and quality of machined parts. Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units as necessary. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Machinist works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. SUMMARY
The following job description represents a single person, multi-skilled operator. This position includes the skills of a welder, machinist, and fabricator, and provides a critical support function to ensure parts are prepared/modified for a semi-custom powerboat manufacturing facility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of all facets of fabrication including welding and metal work.
Prefer at least 5 years experience and/or vocational training certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preference will be given for those with marine industry experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
