  • The Campus Mail Clerk PT will assist in the accurate and timely collection and delivery of all incoming and outgoing mail/parcels by carrying out manual duties and operating mail-processing machines. The work is conducted according to college and external delivery services requirements and regulations. The usual work schedule is 20 hours per week, with times based on the staffing needs of the department. During peak/vacation periods, or as needed, the employee may be asked to work extended hours or Saturdays.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    This position frequently interacts closely with students, staff, faculty, and parents, primarily on a drop-in basis but also by telephone and email, in regard to services provided by Campus Mail Services. Computer and technology skills are necessary, along with a strong attention to detail, exemplary interpersonal skills, and team orientation. The position requires the ability to maintain good concentration while dealing with interruptions; attention to details with emphasis on accuracy; capable of giving, receiving, and analyzing information, formulating work plans, and articulating goals and action plans. The part time nature of the job requires the flexibility to work a modified schedule and/or Saturdays as needed during peak processing seasons.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    High school or equivalent certification is required. An associate’s degree is preferred for this position.

    The starting hourly rate for this position is $18.00.

    Physical Demands
    The clerk will need to alternately stand or sit for long periods of time. The physicality of the position requires reaching and extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. The candidate will also need to bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 50 pounds for short distances.
