    Some of the duties and responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):

    • Ensures work is disseminated appropriately and maintains a records overdue database;
    • Assists the Supervisor, File/Scanning Unit in the performance, completion and maintenance of accurate and timely monitors to ensure that medical record availability meets or exceeds levels acceptable to the Health Information Management Department, Joint Commission and other reviewing organizations;
    • Resolves simple, informal complaints of employees referring others to the supervisor;
    • Trains the File/Scanning personnel; this includes all operations; i.e., filing sequence, retrieval of medical records, transfer of medical records, Record Tracking and other VistA related programs;
    • Ensures retention of medical records on a timely basis for shipment to storage facilities and loads this information into the Record Tracking System;
    • Protects the confidentiality of customer information, access to computer files and release of access codes, according to established guidelines and policy;
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm

    Qualifications

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in federal service. Specific qualifying specialized experience for this position (which should be documented on your resume) includes scanning documents; coordinating work for other employees; referring unusual clerical/administrative situations to a supervisor for resolution; and using multiple systems and current computer technology associated with medical records.     EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: Successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level (in any field).
