Mail Server Administrator administers and maintains the organization's email system(s). Monitors server performance and mail routing. Being a Mail Server Administrator creates user accounts and maintains security levels on databases. Provides first-level telephone support and troubleshoots issues. Additionally, Mail Server Administrator monitors existing messaging infrastructure and server usage, ensuring proper working order. Provides recommendations and plans for improvements to e-mail network. May document internal policies or develop training for end-users. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Mail Server Administrator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.       • Follows policies and procedures for preventative maintenance and cleaning for all equipment excluding Company rolling stock.
      • Performs routine maintenance and cleaning on all equipment excluding Company rolling stock.
      • Assists Technician Manager in training operators about minor repairs, calibrations, and maintenance of equipment.
      • Maintains parts inventory and makes recommendations to Technician Manager on the purchase of parts to ensure continued operations of equipment.
      • Maintains hand, power, and electronic tools, including diagnostic tools required to perform responsibilities in a timely manner.
      • If delegated, acts as technical liaison to all equipment suppliers and keeps up to date on all training materials and upgrades.
      • Assists in the installation of software updates and completes all testing required for certification in a timely manner.
      • Follows all safety policies and procedures on all plant equipment and adheres to safety policies and procedures when trouble shooting, repairing, or maintaining such equipment.
      • Assists in the installation, services, and repairs all computer and related equipment.
      • Conducts electronic maintenance, cleaning and repair of the optical character readers including light sensors and fail safe damage safety protectors.
      • Completes mechanical repair and schedules maintenance of all bearings, relays, electric motors, air compressors, and other mechanical equipment necessary in the operations of the business.
      • Maintains flexible schedule to meet production needs and responds to service calls within 20 minutes.
      • Maintains technician work area, offices and other areas in a safe and clean environment.
      • Abides by all safety rules.
      • Abides by all guidelines and rules as contained in the Employee Handbook.
      • Maintains positive customer, vendor and employee relations.
      • Promotes proper Company image.
      • Maintains confidentiality of all information.
      • Keeps appropriate personnel, including Technician Manager and Division Managers, informed of all pertinent issues
    • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide.
    • Ability to define and correct technical problems.
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge.
    • Ability to work in a fast pace environment. Good organizational, communication, mechanical and technical skills. Safe working habits.
