Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Mail Carrier to join our team. As a Mail Carrier, you will be responsible for delivering mail and packages to residential and commercial addresses within assigned routes. This is a physically demanding role that requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Duties:
- Load and unload mail and packages from delivery vehicle
- Sort and organize mail for efficient delivery
- Drive assigned route in a timely manner, following all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Deliver mail and packages to designated addresses
- Collect outgoing mail from mailboxes
- Obtain signatures for registered, certified, and insured mail items
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns
- Use handheld devices to track deliveries and update delivery status
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries made
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required
- Familiarity with route driving and navigating using GPS systems
- Ability to operate a van or box truck safely
- Proficient in using pallet jacks for moving heavy packages
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
