Mail Server Administrator administers and maintains the organization's email system(s). Monitors server performance and mail routing. Being a Mail Server Administrator creates user accounts and maintains security levels on databases. Provides first-level telephone support and troubleshoots issues. Additionally, Mail Server Administrator monitors existing messaging infrastructure and server usage, ensuring proper working order. Provides recommendations and plans for improvements to e-mail network. May document internal policies or develop training for end-users. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Mail Server Administrator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.   • Primary Purpose: The Server Administrator is assigned to a team that is responsible for the support for the entire computing environment including hardware procurement and deployment, tier 3 system support, project management of deployment and rehab projects, and assigned monitoring and management responsibilities.


    Essential Functions and Requirements:

    • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by actively leading safety in addition to following policies, procedures, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
    • Provides support for existing Active Directory infrastructure deployments.
    • Experience with Group Policy management and group policy design.
    • Uses PowerShell to automate processes and changes in environment as required.
    • Designs, deploys, and troubleshoots VMWare ESX servers as required.
    • Designs, configures, and manages Windows and Linux virtual servers.
    • Follows and updates process documentation as needed.
    • Manages projects related to deployment of new servers and Active Directory changes .
    • Documents configuration and monitors various aspects of server infrastructure via SolarWinds.
    • Supports ServiceDesk in resolving escalated tickets requiring specific technical knowledge.
    • Provides Tier 3 server troubleshooting and support, including on-call rotation, after-hours support.
    • Ability to travel occasionally as needed, not to exceed 20%
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education: High School Diploma or its equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in information technology preferred.

    Experience: Minimum 5 years of Active Directory / Group Policy experience required. Certifications VMWare - VCP-DCV preferred.

    Requirements:

    • Experience in technologies to include:
    • Group Policy
    • PowerShell Scripting
    • Windows Server Configuration / Troubleshooting
    • VMWare ESXi Configuration / Troubleshooting
    • Windows Remote Desktop Services Server config / troubleshooting
    • Windows Server as a Print Server
    • Experience configuring VMWare clusters:
    • vSphere DRS
    • vSphere Resource Allocation
    • vSphere HA
    • Experience with the Microsoft Cloud
      • Managing Office 365 Tenant
      • Designing, Configuring, and Managing Azure Resources

    • Experience with DNS / DHCP / GPO Login Scripts

    Knowledge and Abilities: ITIL based service delivery for Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Capacity Management, and Configuration Management. Ability to hold themselves and others accountable to high standards. Experience identifying and resolving issues independently. Demonstrates a solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgement. Employs Think - Plan - Do - Review critical thinking process for all tasks, large and small. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with information systems. Ability to gain alignment with different clients and represent a common point of view across multiple stakeholders. Must be confident building business partnerships with various business stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
