    Responsibilities
    Manages the daily operational building maintenance activities in several large library buildings (Doe, Bancroft, Gardner Stacks and Moffitt). Coordinates, monitors and tracks all maintenance, custodial, grounds and other service requests for assigned facilities. Notifies occupants of events such as shutdowns, repairs and lighting modification schedules. Ensures all service requests and emergency repairs are handled promptly and according to established procedures. Solicits subcontractor bids though the Capital Projects Mini Projects Program. Coordinates work crew activities to minimize disruption of building occupants. Conducts daily rounds to inspect for security, fire and accident hazards, building irregularities. Manages the moving of furniture with Campus Moving Services. Manages the removal of Surplus furniture and equipment form the Library to Excess and Salvage. Provides Ergonomic assessments for staff. Manages the scheduling of library maintenance projects such as modifying staff workstations and installing ergonomic equipment. Monitors computer-based Energy Management System (EMS), e.g. HVAC, energy and lighting control systems across multiple facilities. Regularly enters lighting schedule changes into the lighting control system per building operational hours/ academic schedules. Gathers data and information to make sound recommendations regarding equipment performance and energy activities. Maintains building related plans and procedures including access controls and security, emergency preparedness, commonly-encountered hazardous materials storage and disposal, crime prevention activities, fire safety inspection compliance and reporting. Serves as liaison with campus and external agencies, e.g., Physical Plant Campus Services, EH&S, Custodial Services and Academic Facilities regarding safety, access, maintenance and construction activities. Acts as Building Coordinator for campus emergency/ disaster preparedness. Serves as communication liaison between campus service agencies and building occupants and prepares building response plans, provides training and coordinates education and planning for new occupants. In a declared emergency or training exercise, responds to Emergency Management Area 6 and implements emergency operations in accordance with the Campus Emergency Operations Center Plan. Coordinates with multiple units across campus to provide safe and secure facilities environment. Coordinates with fire-fighting and civil law enforcement agencies and also provides or coordinates routine inspection of facilities and equipment. Oversees the daily operations of the Library Transportation and Mail Services unit, which includes; supervision of 3.0 FTE, the pickup and delivery of over 80 destinations in the Main Library Complex, subject specialty libraries and the Northern Regional Library Facility in Richmond. Plan and coordinate with the mail service staff activities according to priorities and workload. Maintain and coordinate the maintenance of Library vehicles ensuring adherence to campus transit policies and procedures. Manage the Library stock inventory, determines appropriate stock level and purchase amounts.
    Required Qualifications
    Thorough knowledge in the areas of building space planning, codes, capacity, security, fire safety, organization and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Thorough interpersonal skills including good service orientation and effective problem solving. Knowledge of architectural or engineering concepts. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications. Thorough and effective skills to multi-task and prioritize daily activities effectively. Must meet deadlines. Working knowledge of policies and procedures related to facilities management, equipment, customer services, dispatch, building maintenance, safety and emergency preparedness. Working skills in coordinating facility maintenance and improvements. Knowledge of concepts related to sustainable facilities management and UC system-wide sustainability initiatives. Must be reliable, dependable, adaptable and able to work independently as well as a member of a team. Must be available to work weekends, evenings and holidays when building emergencies occur. Ability to use standard business software for managing communications and projects (Google Suite, email, etc.).

    Education/Training:
    Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Certificated program completion in Facilities Management.

It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.

    The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $74,500.00 - $90,500.00
    This is a 100% full-time (40 hours per week), career position that is eligible for full UC benefits. This position is exempt and paid monthly.
