We are currently seeking a dedicated Supervisor to join our team! This program provides compassionate, trauma-informed short-term residential care for unaccompanied children, females, ages 13-17. Program components include robust clinical, therapeutic, educational, and case management services. As a shift supervisor, you play a crucial role in ensuring the effective and compassionate support of children refugees during their resettlement journey.
Shift Supervisor Essential functions:
- Staff Management: Supervising direct care staff and ensuring proper staffing levels for each shift.
- Client Support: Providing assistance, guidance, and support to residents with daily living activities and addressing their needs and concerns.
- Safety and Security: Maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents and staff, including implementing emergency procedures when necessary.
- Medication Management: Overseeing the administration and monitoring of medication by staff members according to established protocols. Med Cert, CPR Required. Will train if not currently certified.
- Documentation: Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of resident activities, incidents, and progress notes. Supervisors overlook and upload client initial intake assessment.
- Training and Development: Providing training and ongoing support to staff members to enhance their skills and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Supervisors team up with new staff to introduce them to our program and its procedures.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with other supervisors, managers, and support services to coordinate care plans and address any issues that arise.
- Communication Skills: Supervisors are responsible for relaying important program information to Direct Care staff and elevating program needs to the Directors or other leadership as appropriate. Supervisors are also responsible for conducting bi-monthly team meetings for Direct Care Staff.
- Staff Development: Supervisors are expected to meet with their direct reports regularly to give feedback and promote growth and understanding for the program and team.
- Quality Assurance: Conducting regular checks and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality of care.
- Crisis Intervention: Managing crisis situations effectively, de-escalating conflicts, and implementing appropriate interventions as needed with Leadership.
- Administrative Tasks: Performing administrative duties such as scheduling, maintaining inventory, and managing budgets to support the efficient functioning of the group home.
- Schedule: This position requires flexibility at times and a variety of shifts.
Current schedule for Shift Supervisor as follows:
- Tuesday 2-10pm, Wednesday 8-4 pm, Thursday 2-10pm, Friday 10-6 pm, Saturday 10-6pm (training shifts may vary)
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (Required)
- High School Diploma/GED, higher academic qualifications are welcome
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with electronic health records
- Supervisory Experience
- Two years of experience in human services, healthcare, social work or related
- Experience in translating Spanish to English, residential care, medical group homes or behavior health a plus
