    Summary :

    Robotic Programmers.Experienced in programmed robots, either Motoman, Fanuc, Panasonic or ABB.

    Assists in supervision of staff and operations of the Welding Department within Plant II.Assists in Maintaining production schedules, assists in planning work, assists in performing pre-shift meetings, trains employees, and has authority discipline.

    Conducts experiments and tests and evaluates data to assist welding engineering personnel in development and applications of new or improved welding equipment;

    welding techniques, procedures, and practices; and specifications.Recommends adoption of new developments and applications to engineering personnel and demonstrates practicability of recommendations.

    Inspects welded joints and conducts tests to ensure weld meet company standards, national code requirements, and customer job specifications, has final determination on weld quality.

    Works with Manufacturing Supervisors, Welding Engineers, Maintenance, Weld Fixture Repair, Quality, Production Operators, and Management to ensure that all welding and laser-scanning equipment is operational at all times.

    Weld Technicians are responsible for training new welding and laser-scanning operators on NSI Equipment, procedures, and processes.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Assist the Manufacturing Supervisor with production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.

    Train and coach production line employees.

    Share in the Responsibility for shift schedule to include : work station assignments / rotations, employee training.

    Assist in the Coordination of production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers.

    Provide programming assistance to Engineering as needed.

    Responsible for quality control. Effective and Efficient Weld Programming (start to finish) - develop and implement weld and laser / camera (Perceptron) Programs.

    Troubleshoot Power Suppliers, Weld Programs, Controllers, and Tooling fixtures.

    Pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, and programming repairs.

    Only Authority to make Rework vs. Scrap Decisions.

    Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).

    Communicate with other Shift Supervisors, Welding Engineers / Technicians, Welding Engineering Manager, and Plant Manager.

    Contact Vendors as needed for assistance.

    Interface with Engineering for production cell repairs and / or improvements.

    Ensure a clean and safe work area.

    Assist in production as necessary.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

    Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.

    Also,must have four years related experience and / or training or equivalent combination education and experience.

    Basic computer skills.Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Explorer.

    Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery. This is normally acquired through four years related experience and / or training or equivalent combination education and experience.

    Manual dexterity required for operating and programming of machinery and computers.

    Knowledge of : PPAP; PFMEA; Blueprint reading; QS9000 System; TS16949 System; ISO14001 System; GD & T; Corrective and Preventative Actions.
